Welcome to Wilmington Island
Methodist Church
Sanctuary Restoration
Over the past few years, it became apparent that our sanctuary, which was built in the 1970s, was in need of repairs. The pews, in particular, had become weakened and frequently needed reinforcement to remain intact. After a lengthy research process, our Sanctuary Restoration Committee concluded that the pews, which had veneer finishes and particle-board components, could not be repaired.

After much prayer and more research, the committee developed a plan to replace the pews and also complete additional needed repairs and updates to the entire sanctuary.

Renovations began in January 2025 and were completed in three short weeks! We give thanks to God for the gifts and blessings that enabled us to make these much needed repairs and improvements without cutting our missions and ministries budgets. We also give thanks for the time and labor the many volunteers lovingly dedicated to this project.

We rejoice that like our sanctuary, in Christ we also are a new creation (2 Cor 5:17). May God be glorified through the humble and faithful obedience of this church!
